New Parisian fashion arriving soon
So what do optometrists do on their day off? Well when Alisdair suggested that we all went to Paris for the day, we should have known it would be more of a busman's holiday rather than a champagne cruise down the Seine! So yesterday Gill, Alisdair and I drove to the equivalent of Birmingham NEC somewhere near Paris!! For what reason? To view over 10,000 frames from nearly every spectacle designer from around the globe. Like kids in a sweet shop Alisdair and Gill tried and tested thousands of frames for the sole purpose of bringing the latest fashion and innovations to Snodland. So here's what to expect soon:
- Some exquisite hand made Japanese titanium frames, incredibly light with beautiful hand engravings on the sides.
- Children will be able to wear the first mega strong, super flexible frames made from plastic- none of that bendy metal which is not only going out of fashion but is also quite spikey when your face gets hit by a football!! We are to be the first stockist in the U.K. for what is set to be a revelation in children's eyewear! They are so tough that when challenged to break a pair, I couldn't- and I didn't hold back!
- Brand new Lindberg designs are also winging their way to us. Combining the usual strength and lightweight nature of Lindbergs with more modern designs is sure to be a popular frame choice. We will take delivery of these frames 6 months before the U.K. release.
- Also a few surprises from some brilliant British designers will appear on the shelves soon.
So here's what we liked but didn't buy:
- The precious metal diamond encrusted Lindberg frames which retail at £800,000. And just incase you wondered if I accidentally added too many naughts that was £800,000. Of course if you would like a pair please let us know and we will happily order some for you. - Frames made of leather, stone, cardboard and feathers!!
